Street Colours of Beirut
Trance Atelier supports Street Colours Beirut, an art therapy project by artist & psychoanalyst Karine Wehbé working with refugee children displaced by war in Syria & in Lebanon. Through mark-making with paint on paper, the children find a way to express what they cannot yet speak.
The methodology is kindred to ours. As both practices begin with the same belief: that the subconscious, given safe attention and the right materials, will compose what wants to come forward. Karine works with paint and the gesture of children's hands; we work with language, sound, and trance.
A portion of every Hypnotic Parenting guide sold at Trance Atelier supports Street Colours Beirut directly — generating funding for the materials, the sessions, and the safe space Karine creates in Beirut's streets each week.
If you would like to support the project further, you can view and purchase artworks made by the children at sunend.org
— every sale funds the project's growth and reaches more children.
— Karine Wehbé's project was originally featured by Sunend.org, an art curatorial platform championing the work of emerging talent.
